Introduction

Project activities and how can I participate on them

SHIELD project will implement information dissemination and awareness creation activities in 4 European cities: Thessaloniki (Greece), Krakow (Poland), Tallinn (Estonia) and Ankara (Turkey) reaching a peak during the European Science Week 2004 (8-14 November).

A diversified Information Programme per country has been designed and will be implemented, including:

  • Publicity events that will aim at maximizing the publicity of the forthcoming stage, but also to inform and involve students/schools' participation at an early stage.
  • Core events that will be executed during the European Science Week 2004 (November 8th - 14th) and will comprise mainly of 4 interactive exhibitions and 4 debate workshops.
  • Closing events that will include the continuation of the exhibition (for an additional week) and the dissemination of the Information Programme's results

  • Continuation of the exhibition and the guided visits for an additional week
  • Distribution of project's video tape copies to local / regional school authorities per country
  • Dissemination of project's review report.

If you live close to one of the 4 European towns, visit the SHIELD's exhibitions on November 2004. Demo, simulators, video show and posters will show to you how European science and technology can improve your life. Young scientists will be constantly there eager to answer all of your questions and guide you in the exhibition venues.
